Chromebook is trying to expand its market share in the market as the company today announced the new Ryzen 5000C series processors.
Ryzen 5000C processors are based on AMD’s popular Zen3 core architecture running on the x86 platform. The processors are quite powerful as they are built on a 7nm process and run at a low 15W. All Ryzen 5000Cs feature Wi-Fi 6E support and faster charging, as well as upgraded Ryzen 5000C connectivity.
Which claims to be the world’s first 8-core high-performance x86 processor for AMD Chromebooks. Compared to its predecessor Ryzen 7 3700C, the Ryzen 7 5825C offers up to 107% higher performance on multitasking (Geekbench 5) and up to 85% higher performance on Motion Mark 1.2 graphics.
AMD claims that its new chips offer up to 94% better battery life than the competition. Specifically, it compares an Intel Core i5-1135G7 in the CrXPRT to the Ryzen 5 5625C.
With improved performance engineering, AMD’s Ryzen 5000C processors have been able to implement the “wake up from sleep” feature on Chromebooks, just as you can instantly lift and wake a laptop on Apple’s M1 Macbooks.
