We are now dependent on online services and the ultimate advantage of online services is convenience as we will get our ordered products at our doorstep. Now the platforms are charging for this convenience as we know that popular online food delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato have already started to collect platform fees while Google Pay is also charging platform fees for rechargeing mobile devices. Now the very popular shopping platform Flipkart has joined the party as it is confirmed that the shopping platform will charge a platform fee on certain orders.
Flipkart has started to charge a platform fee of Rs 3 on some orders. The platform is currently charging on small value products. The platform fee will be charged on both online and cash on delivery payment orders as well.
You need to pay a platform fee of Rs 3 for orders below Rs 5000 and the charges are applied on both the official website and mobile app of Flipkart. You can able to find the platform fees at checkout page and the company mentioned that the charge is a nominal fee to sustain efficient operations.
It is worth mentioning that Flipkart is yet to make a public announcement about the platform fee but the same is started to appear from August 13 as per the users on X which was previously known as Twitter.
