After Samsung and Honor, now OnePlus has officially announced that it will be offering deep cross-device connectivity for its devices with the very popular Microsoft Phone Link app. For those who are not aware, it is an application by Microsoft for Android users and the same enables users to make and receive phone calls and also access SMS and photos on the computer without baking the phone out of their pocket. Before we get into the article in depth, let me see that the new capability will be available for the users who are running the devices of the brand with OxygenOS 14 globally and ColorOS 14 in China. That means the users of Oppo with ColorOS 14 will also get the new capability.
If you are not aware about the procedure to set up the PC and phone using the Microsoft Phone Link app then you need to scan a QR code using your smartphone and the QR code will be available on your computer inside the Phone Link app. The pairing procedure will be completed in less than a minute.
As I mentioned above, the Phone Link application will enable you to manage managing photos and notifications along with the capability to reply to SMS and receive as well as make phone calls. The new integration will also enable you to interact with the mobile applications using your PC. It will mirror applications side by side and this will save your time to do the job instantly from your computer instead of taking the phone out of your pocket. It even supports cross device copy and paste capability as well.
So this particular feature will make our life easy and it is one of my dreams come true moments as the same will help me a lot while working.
Having said that, OnePlus has already started to roll out the stable version of OxygenOS 14 to the OnePlus 11 units in India.
