Apple has extended the support for multiple new languages across the lock screen along with Siri, keyboard, and search on iOS 18. The virtual assistant of the company which is Siri will receive support for nine Indian languages and it can able to understand the Indian English accent. So Siri will be more desi in the iOS 18 operating system. It can also able to understand and respond in the language of Hindi as well.
The latest update will also enable you to customize the time on the lock screen with numerals in Indian languages. It will be getting numerals from 12 languages, including Arabic, Arabic Indic, Bangla, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Meitei, Odia, Ol Chiki, and Telugu.
Apple is also introducing Multilingual Keyboard and Alphabetical Layouts on the board which means you can able to use two regional languages support on your iPhone along with English. It is worth mentioning that this particular feature is also available on the Android platform for a very long time.
The keyboard is said to automatically switch languages by understanding the app and ongoing conversations. The multilingual keyboard will also support QuickPath and Emoji Prediction capabilities as well. Having said that, this particular feature is currently supported with English, Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu languages at the moment. The iOS 18 operating system is also bringing Live Voicemail transcriptions.
