Apple is in the last stage of preparation before announcing the new version of different operating systems including the upcoming iOS 18. It is reported that the upcoming iOS 18 will be coming with Project Greymatter and the same will be offering various AI features. The company will be integrating AI features across its various applications and services including Safari, Notes, and Photos. The operating system will also feature the notification summarization called ‘Greymatter Catch Up’ and the same will enable you to listen to the summary of your recent notifications through Siri, and the operating system will also come with the AI powered photo editing and more.
The report also says that the company has created a new object-erasing feature, where generative AI recognizes, removes an unwanted object, and fills the area with AI-generated content. This is not groundbreaking as we already have the similar set up on the Google Pixel, Galaxy, and Huawei devices.
The power of this particular feature is believed to come in the iMessage for easy sharing and the upcoming iOS 18 could also enable you to create personalized emojis as well.
iOS 18 is also said to be capable to provide an automated response generation capability that will be based on various factors including names, calendar events, locations, times, and more. The Notes app will also receive multiple AI improvements with the upcoming iOS 18 and macOS 15. It will be offering text-based generative AI capabilities including speech-to-text conversion and summarization. Apple will be announcing its new version of operating systems during the upcoming WWDC conference which will take place from June 10 to June 14.
