India is the biggest market of mobile phones and we have a huge amount of mobile phone users as well. It also creates a challenging problem of SIM card fraud and to make a safe environment, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has created a new rule in the country.
The authority has implemented a new updation to the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) rules and now users cannot able to port their number to a different telecom operator and this rule will be applicable if the user has replaced their physical card in the last seven days.
For example, if you requested for a new physical SIM from your telecom operator due to various reasons including SIM is damaged, misplaced, or stolen, then you will not able to port the number to a new operator for seven days. After that particular period, you will able to switch from your service provider.
Let’s hope that the new rule will control SIM card fraud challenges and don’t forget to share your thoughts about the new rule in the comments section below.
