The financial frauds and scams are now common in the digital world and many people become victims of the same and they lose their precious money earned after a huge hard work. Google always comes up to block this kind of scenarios and now the company is testing new measures to block financial scams and this will be beneficial for each and every mobile users.
The Mountain View company Google has announced enhanced financial fraud protection in its Google Play Protect and this will be blocking unwanted or suspicious app installations through internet-sideloading sources.
Google is searching the new enhanced financial fraud protection by joining its hands with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and the latest Google Play Protect feature will be capable of analyzing apps that may use sensitive runtime permissions to scam users. The new feature of Google will be scanning for the four permissions including RECEIVE_SMS, READ_SMS, BIND_Notifications, and Accessibility.
Scam apps usually read SMSes and notifications and the new implementation of Google is capable of intercepting one-time passwords (OTPs). With the latest implementation, Google Play Protect will detect any application using the permissions mentioned above at the time of the installation and there the same will automatically block that particular application from your device.
Google will be bringing the new set up in Singapore in the coming weeks and then it will be rolling out in other parts of the world.
