To curb the spread of coronavirus, the Indian government has taken a bold decision to national lockdown and that made people to stay at home and many individuals are not able to earn their daily wages due to the complete shutdown of the factories and offices. In this situation, the major telecom operators of the country comes forward with a helping hand.
Let’s start with the new decision of Airtel, as the company announced that it will extend the validity of the mobile plans for 80 million users during the national lockdown and the same will be extended till 17th of April 2020. The company has confirmed that users can able to continue receiving incoming calls without any issues and the company will also provide free recharge of ₹10 to make important calls and SMS during this stage.
The company will use the average revenue per user to identify the people who have low income and cannot able to make it recharge during this situation but Airtel did not reveal how they will calculate the same.
Followed by Airtel, Vodafone Idea has also announced that the company will extend the validity of its feature phone user during the national lockdown and the same is till 17th of April 2020. Having said that, the state-run BSNL has also said that it will extend the validity till 20th of April 2020.
Lastly, Reliance Jio has also extended the validity of the JioPhone and the users will get incoming calls and all the JioPhone users will get free 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS till April 17th, 2020.
