The popular social media platform such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram has received new parental control features to encourage young users to get healthy digital habits.
The company has introduced features including a parental supervision hub in the Facebook Messenger platform along with proactive blocking of unwanted direct messages (DMs) on Messenger as well as Instagram. It will also feature reminders for teens that will help them to take breaks from using the social media apps.
Speaking about the Facebook Messenger Supervision Controls, the feature will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada through Meta’s Family Center. It will offer parents access to teen’s privacy and safety settings and they will get notification when there is a change in the contact list of Facebook Messenger and it will also enable parents to monitor the time which the little one’s spend on the platform.
You can also able to manage settings of your little ones including who can message (friends only, friends of friends, or no one) and who can view their stories.
Instagram is taking steps to restrict interactions between teens and unknown adults, and the application will be sending text-only invitations to seek permission before interacting with someone.
