The popular chipset maker MediaTek and the popular social media platform Meta have officially announced that they are collaborating together to develop AR glasses. We believe that the company might launch its new AR Glass in the next few years of time.
The explosive partnership was announced by MediaTek during the MediaTek Summit 2023 and the same was held in California, USA.
The new partnership is really a surprising move by the company as Meta used the chipset of Qualcomm for its smart glasses and mixed reality headset in the past. Meta’s mixed reality headset Quest 3 has the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, while its second-generation smart glasses, which is the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are powered by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor.
