From a couple of weeks, we are hearing about a new gaming smartphone called Black Shark which is backed by the Chinese electronics giants Xiaomi. We already got an idea about the device with the leaks and also with the listing on the popular benchmarking websites. Well, now today the company has officially launched the device. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to know more about the newly launched Black Shark Gaming Smartphone.

The all new Black Shark Gaming Smartphone sports 5.99-inch Full-HD+ and having 1920 x 1080 pixels, with the trendy 18:9 display with DCI-P3 color gamut, and supports for MEMC Smart Motion Compensation Technology. The device hasn’t has the modern small bezels and notch on the display, but as the device is a gaming smartphone large bezels are helpful when a user play game in the landscape mode, so no one will complain about having the large bezels.
Now coming to under the hood, it is powered by 2.8 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor and the device is paired with 6/8 GB RAM along with Adreno 630 GPU for the graphical task. In terms of storage, the 6 GB RAM variant comes with 64 GB of storage and the 8 GB RAM variant of the device has 128 of storage.
Moving to the photography department, the device has a dual rear camera setup, it has 12 megapixel (1.25 μm, f/1.75 aperture, 6P lens) + 20 megapixel (1.0 μm, f/1.75 aperture, 6P lens) with PDAF, HDR, Portrait Mode and dual-tone LED flash. The device also has 20 megapixel 1.0 μm with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, and Smart Beauty Mode.
The device also has a liquid cooling feature which will eliminate heat which generates by the long session of gaming or the usage of the device, and with this feature, the device will remain cool. The device also has a special button on his left side which is a dedicated Shark Key, which will turn the device into performance mode for the better gaming experience. Moreover, the device has also a feature which will block all the calls and messages when a user plays, which is really handy for the game lovers, along with Gaming Mic, Dual Smart PA/Hi-Fi Music.
In terms of connectivity, the device supports dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi 2 x 2 MU MIMO, USB Type-C, and GPS. The device also features a fingerprint scanner, aptX, and aptX HD. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.0 which is based on Joy UI, and the device is backed on 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Talking about the colour choices, the device will be available in Polar Night, and Sky Gray.
Black Shark Gamepad
Apart from the smartphone, the company has also unveiled Black Shark Gamepad which is a gaming controller and it can be attached to the smartphone and you can play games with a joystick button and connect via Bluetooth.
Pricing and availability
Speaking about the pricing and availability, the 6 GB variant of the device is priced at ¥2999 (approx. ₹31,140), and the 8 GB variant has a price tag of ¥3499 (approx. ₹36,330). And the Black Shark Gamepad is priced at ¥179 (approx. ₹1,860). The device will be available in China from April 20, but there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
