After the long 14 years, the Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has replaced its MIUI custom skin with the new HyperOS and the latest version of the custom skin is said to be the smallest firmware size in the industry, as well as security, performance, and multitasking improvements.
Everything about HyperOS
It comes with changes in the user interface and you will get more customization options for the lockscreen with new templates, fonts, and widgets. The company has also improved the control center and the same looks more streamlined than the MIUI 14. While the app icons in the latest HyperOS appear similar to MIUI 14.
It is also said that the company has added new security features that includes a self-developed TEE security system, which processes sensitive content separately and the company offers transparent as well as controllable internet permissions. The company also says that the latest HyperOS firmware size can be changed to fit different hardware needs and the mobile phone firmware is very small.
The new custom skin also comes with multiple AI features including a built-in AI large model that powers features such as Xiaoai Input Assistant for text creation, WPS Document Scanning for text recognition in documents, AI Wonderful Painting for converting doodles into paintings, and AI Image Search for intuitive image retrieval. That’s not all, the company has also created a tighter device-cloud Integration as well.
The newly announced custom skin of the company also features seamless cross-device collaboration and the same will enable applications use the hardware of multiple devices. It also comes with network collaboration which features connectivity by allowing devices to access a phone’s 5G network for fast and reliable connections and Cross-Device Focus Notification will enable you to share notifications between devices.
HyperOS is said to offer the best performance as the same comes with enhanced memory management which will be offering faster startup speeds and improved background app performance. The file system is also optimized to maintain I/O performance over extended periods and the graphics subsystem introduces real-time blurring for smoother motion effects.
Availability of HyperOS
The company has officially confirmed that the latest HyperOS will begin in December 2023 for Chinese models and in the first quarter of 2024 for international models. It is worth mentioning that the latest Xiaomi 14 series is the first to feature the new custom skin.
