The Japanese smartphone brand Sharp has introduced its new smartphone series in the market of Japan called the Sharp Aquos R8 series and the same includes the vanilla variant and a ‘Pro’ variant. The smartphone series is also coming with Leica-tuned camera setup as well. So let’s get into the article to check out the complete details of the new offering.
Everything about Sharp Aquos R8 series
The smartphone series features a 10-bit Pro IGZO OLED display with up to 1Hz-240Hz refresh rate and support Dolby Vision content. The Pro variant features a 6.6 inch display along with 2,000 nits of maximum brightness level and WUXGA+ (2730 x 1260 pixels) resolution. While the vanilla variant features a 6.4 inch display along with 1,300 nits, and FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
It is coming with the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor along with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Both models offer 256GB of storage with support for MicroSD card expansion. The vanilla variant is having 8GB of RAM on the board while the Pro model is having 12 GB of RAM on the board.
The devices are also coming with a 3.5mm headphone jack along with IP68-certified for dust and water resistance. The smartphone series features Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor and it is worth mentioning that the Pro features ultrasonic sensor.
Speaking about the camera department, the Pro flaunts a 47.2MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary camera with a Summicron lens as opposed to a 50.3MP 1/1.55-inch camera with a Hektor lens on the Aquos R8.
Sharp Aquos R8 features a 13MP ultra-wide camera, whereas the Pro model features a 14 CH spectral sensor. The latter can be also equipped with filters from brands like ELECOM and LOOF. The vanilla variant features an 8MP front facing camera while the R8 Pro uses a 12.6MP sensor.
The smartphone series is running on Android 13 out of the box and the vanilla model is housing 4,570mAh battery and the big brother is having 5,000mAh battery. The devices are supporting wireless charging as well.
