Google has decided to pull the plug of Gboard’s enhanced voice typing from Pixel smartphones. A recent update to Pixel devices brought this feature and now the company has decided to take it back. With an upcoming update, these devices will go back to the old voice typing settings.
According to the report, the enhanced voice typing feature was spotted by some users of Pixel 4, Pixel 4XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5 as part of an update. The update allowed some users to enable Gboard’s enhanced voice typing with the help of a voice command via Google Assistant. The enhanced voice typing allowed users to clear or send texts by saying “clear or “send” respectively.
In addition, the new update brought automatic punctuations that placed appropriate punctuations like commas, question marks, and exclamation while dictating the text. At the moment it is not known whether Google has removed this feature as well. Google might have taken down the enhanced voice typing feature to further iron out the bugs to facilitate a wider roll out soon.
We do not know the future of this feature at the moment but make sure to stick around, to learn about it as soon as the word is out.
