Google has officially introduced its second generation folding phone along with the Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro series. The folding phone is dubbed the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with the power of the Google Tensor G4 mobile processor along with a 48 megapixel camera sensor and more. The newly announced Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold features rounded corners along with a multi-alloy steel with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminium alloy cover. The device also features a rectangular camera island on the back with two pill-shaped cutouts that is accomodating sensors. The power button will be working as a fingerprint scanner and the device also features a tabletop mode as well.
The external display of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a 6.3-inch display with symmetrical bezels around the screen and a punch-hole cutout at the centre position of the screen. The device also features an AMOLED screen along with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone comes with a large 8-inch internal Super Actua Flex panel screen along with 2,152 x 2,076 pixels resolution and a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate as well as 2,700 nits peak brightness.
Speaking about the camera department, the latest Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a 48MP main camera along with a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and the device also features a 10.8MP telephoto unit with 5x zoom and 20x super res zoom. Both the internal and external screens of the device feature a 10MP front facing camera. The device also comes with AI features similar to the other models of the series.

It also packs safety features like Emergency SOS, crash detection, crisis alerts, and more.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the latest Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts at $1,799 / €1,899 for 256GB and $1,999 / €2,029 for the 512GB variant. It is available for pre-orders and the sales will be starting from September 4. The second generation folding device of Google is already confirmed to be introduced in India as well.
